SAFE NAVIGATION

Within the VIP American plan only the guide is allowed to drive the boat. The European plan lets clients drive the boat themselves and they are held responsible for the equipment provided by the outfitter. Everyone aboard must wear a life jacket provided by the outfitter.

Note to our European plan guests

It is strictly forbidden to venture out onto Manitou River north of Lake Brézel, as this section of the river is extremely dangerous. Only our Mabec Outfitters guides have the required experience and equipment (turbine motors) to cross the rapids without causing expensive damage to the boat and motor. Should you decide to go against this rule, any damage caused to the boat and/or motor will be charged to you as follows: $200 for a propeller and $1,750 for the propeller tail, plus transportation and installation.

CATCH LIMIT

The catch limit is five (5) fish per person, including 1 fish weighing 3 pounds or more. At all times during your entire stay you must not exceed this limit of five (5) fish. We suggest and encourage you to practice catch and release. All lures must have only a single hook.

LUGGAGE

While packing please remember that travelling to the main camp is by helicopter. Therefore, a weight limit for each person, which includes his or her entire luggage, must be respected. This limit varies according to the packaged plan.

VIP American plan: 50 pounds or 23 kg

European plan: 100 pounds or 45 kg

It is important to respect the weight limits. The outfitter reserves the right to use any available space on board to transport merchandise. Should there still be space available it may be sold to passengers for excess baggage at a cost of $3.30 per kg ($1.50 per pound).

HELICOPTER FLIGHT

Transport to the Mabec outfitter is provided by Mustang Helicopters Inc. device and the flight duration is approximately 30 minutes.

The helicopters perform visual flight and the bad weather may cause delays. In this case, we ask you to be patient and understanding since this kind of situation is totally beyond our control.
